The great thing about Tiny Homes is that they can be built to match anyone’s lifestyle and budget. The cost of any home may vary depending on the quality of materials, length of trailer, styles, features, appliances, custom and so on.
Here’s an average price based on our construction experience when building homes:
Tiny Homes including basic finishes and appliances starting price of $75,000.00 in Canadian dollars or approximately $56,250 USD on current exchange rates.
Tiny Homes including all high-end materials and finishes can cost as much as $185,000.00 and more.
Just to remember, this is an average price that may change depending on length of trailer, materials, finishes, mechanical, appliances etc.
Tiny homes laws vary by province/state, as do tiny homes size requirements and limit. We recommend talking with your local jurisdiction to clarify.
Codes and zoning vary from city to city, so we recommend talking with your local jurisdiction, country or municipality to clarify where you can park your Tiny Home.
There are cities that allow Tiny Homes as accessory dwelling units, which means they can be put on a property that already has a residential home.
We’re also partnered with Sunshine Coast RV Park and our clients get their first month free when they purchase a Coast Tiny Home and stay for at least one year! Our clients get priority site selection for their tiny as well. Our smallest size can be completed in 2 months. A custom design and construction typically take around 3 months of full-time work to complete. This depends on our current lead time and how custom your tiny home is. Some products and materials can take up to 30 days just to be delivered to us.
We make sure all your sanitary needs are cared for. Our units will have an option for direct to sewer connections or compostable toilet. You choose which option best fits your needs.
Choosing a good insulation for your tiny home is the key. The best option for insulation or R value is Spray Foam at R21 thermal value. Batt insulation (fiberglass or mineral wool) is rated at R14 (used in normal homes with 2x4 construction).
We also recommend rainscreen and high-performance building paper to improve the performance and give additional longevity to your tiny home. Why not have your tiny home protected and last as long as possible?
With those options you are well prepared for winter!
Tiny homes are often hooked up to the electrical grid like a normal house. It is common to see 30 amp and 50-amp connections. When living off-grid, the most common ways tiny homes get power are through solar panels. Water is stored and collected through filtrating rain water.
The legal size for an RV trailer CSA/CAN Z240 is 8.5ft wide by 13.5ft high. Please check your local regulations for exact height dimensions.
The weight of the tiny homes depends on the individual sizes and contents in the home. However, the average weight can be between 7500lbs to 19000lbs.
